We are constantly looking for new and exciting ways of
getting everyone involved, not only in the Men's Club, but in the entire

Annual Golf Event - Mid to end of August every year (this year on August 29, 2007 at 1 pm at the Glen Cove Golf Club). Prizes and fun had by all. Dinner follows the outing where the prizes are awarded.
High Holidays 2007 We organize and provide ushers for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, as well as at regular Shabbat services.
September 16, 2007 from 7:30 am, rain or shine. Come join us for the building of our Sukkah in the parking lot. Bring your hammer. All are welcome and needed! Our sukkah seats over 360 people!
Men's Club Kick-Off Meeting Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 8 pm. Wine Tasting Event! Plus!! "Lower Your Health Insurance Premiums Dramatically and Increase Tax-Deductible Savings." Guest speaker: Stewart M. Small (our Men's Club Secretary) will speak about the opportunity HSA's-Health Savings Accounts can provide to business owners and Individuals. A brief presentation, Q&A and informative handouts for all attendees. Stewart speaks regularly to Chambers of Commerce and other business groups on Group Benefits planning. This should be of special interest to the accountants, business owners and medical professionals in our group. Get involved. Join the discussion.
October 2, 2007 at 8 pm Sukkot Dinner. Free pizza, beer and soda. Our open auction, run by our own Dennis Wallach, is always a thrill to watch. Please bring a wrapped item for us to auction.
Sunday October 14, 2007 at 10 am Join former SRJC member Gerald (Jerry) Eskenazi, will speak on "A Sportswriter's Life: Inside Today's World of Athletics" Jerry who has written sports for The New York Times for almost half a century, takes us from dinner at Mike Tyson's to a locker-room confrontation with a midget wrestler. Along the way, Jerry, will explain why A-Rod makes $17,000 an inning, and why the football Giants are playing the Dolphins in London in late October. The talk will be filled with anecdotes involving Reggie Jackson, Joe DiMaggio, Muhammad Ali, and Hank Greenberg. He also is the author of 17 books. A question-and-answer session will follow.
Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 7 pm Men’s Club Keruv Coalition In May 2007, the Men’s Club initiated the Keruv coalition project (a project addressing the issues of mixed families and the conservative movement). This was such a success that one of our congregants has gone for specific training in this and we will run a second meeting in November. November 13, 2007 at 7:30 pm until the fun stops (or the check is paid). A Men’s Club get together dinner at one of our favorite kosher restaurants. Annie Chan's on Union Turnpike (off 190th Street) $36 per person. Minyan included.
December 2, 2007 at 9 am Bridging the Generations. Meet at the Nursery School to pack up food. and then bring food, and other provisions to needy congregants at Temple Emanuel, 2000 Benedict Avenue in the Bronx. We need plenty of volunteers to help with the distribution of hot food and to help these senior citizens. We bring music and our hearts. Contact the office if you can help.

Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 12 noon we are bringing in a master in Aikido to show us this particular art of self defense. Aikido is often translated as "the Way of unifying (with) life energy" or as "the Way of harmonious spirit." This is open to all, young and old, men and women. Join us in the Nursery School atrium.
Sunday, February 3, 2008 at 8:30 am As part of the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs we participate in the annual World Wide Wrap. We will begin with a short instructional video, “The Ties that Bind”, a ½ hour video on the significance of wrapping tefillin and a “How To” on the proper way to don tefillin. No one should feel uncomfortable and this is a great venue to learn how. Then at 9 am, we will officially begin the festivities with our 6th grade children who, again this year, are going to be showing off their tefillin that they built with kits supplied by the Men’s Club. Children, bring your parents!!! Afterwards, we will be honored with a guest speaker, Rabbi Juan Mejia, the rabbi of the Parkchester Jewish Center, the center where we conduct our annual “Bridge the Generations” luncheon. He was born in Bogota, Colombia, at the age of fifteen, he discovered the Jewish origins of his family and started a process of self discovery that led him to Jerusalem and back to Judaism.

Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 10 am Men's Club Keruv Winter Event in the Nursery School Atrium.
Sunday, March 2, 2008 Game time 3 pm The Men’s Club is will have group tickets to the NY Islanders. Tickets are $36 each (face value of $50). Seating is limited so please make your reservations with the office. This is a great way to introduce your children to the action world of hockey.
Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 7:30 pm Nassau County Comptroller Howard Weitzman will speak to the Men's Club on the current state of Nassau County's finances.
April 2008 Every Year Men's Club sponsors a Passover Wine Sale. Case discounts available for a 10% Discount. Contact Steve Goldstein 516-621-0940 and place your order soon.
Shabbat, April 12, 2008 at 9 am Men’s Club Shabbat. We need volunteers to take on the many tasks that will take place. If you can read Torah, please let Ellis Rudman know. The parsha is Metzora. We will have a “Lunch and Learn” following kiddush.
April 30, 2008 at 7:30 pm Yom HaShoah, we remember the many who were lost in the holocaust (shoah). Every year the Men’s Club distributes special yellow candles, free of charge, which are to be lit on this night. There will be a special ceremony in the shul. We need your help to distribute the candles to all of our community.
June 2008, date to be announced, bring your poker skills for our Texas Hold’em tournament. Buy in amount for chips. Winner takes all. Food and fun galore.
